Guided Tour Of The Church Of San Jorge And Hospital De La Caridad
Did you know that in Seville there was an institution that saw to the proper burial of people executed by the Inquisition? This institution, known as the Brotherhood of Charity, was founded to provide spiritual respite for those condemned by the Tribunal of the Holy Office.
On this tour, we will visit the church and gardens of La Caridad, as well as its inner courtyard, which exemplifies the traditional hospital structure of the time.
We will also learn about the life of Miguel de Mañara, who sought solace in religion after the death of his wife caused him to make radical changes in his life. Furthermore, we will discover the meaning behind his rosebushes, as well as his literary work, Discourse on Truth.
